It's a very nice place, but not as you might think of! It is located in the Middle east, but its not at all a thirld world country devastated by war (despite its proximity with Irak). Since a good answer to all your general questions would require too much space, I'll provide a couple of useful links at the end for you to visit. In the meantime, let me tell you that ...

Mamlakat al-Bahrayn or the Kingdom of Bahrain, is an Islamic country of to the Persian Gulf, in the Middle East. It is a monarchy (ruled by a King) and the official language is Arabic. This kingdom used to be a UK colony, but got its independence in 1971.

Yes it is a tiny island just beside the east coast of Saudi Arabia in the Arabian sea.Bahrain is an Arab state so people here are mainly speaking arabic.Beacause of Bahrain's cosmopolitan way of living and with emphasis on sports, It is indeed an ideal place to visit. The Bahrain F1 grand prix is just weeks ahead.

The Kingdom of Bahrain is in the Arabian Gulf ( Persian).

It is mid way between the entrance, and Kuwait

Qatar is a Peninsula that juts out

Bahrain is between Qatar and the mainland*

Im Bahraini and im answering from bahrain, Bahrain isn't that Nice Island that u'll enjoy very much, We don't have clear and clean beaches, and there is a lot of traffic jams and the manama (the only place have hotels) is dirty and if u want to go to bahrain, go to "howar" island it's very nice place there and there is clean beaches to swim, and welcome to bahrain.
